Saturday, October 8th on the calendar marks the Northland Community and Technical College homecoming. Family, friends, and alumni of NCTC have a full day of events. In addition to the homecoming football game, where Northland hosts Minnesota State (Fergus Falls) at 1:30 p.m., multiple events will be occurring, including the NCTC volleyball alumni game at 9:00 a.m., as well as NCTC baseball and softball teams that will scrimmage opponents beginning at 10:00 a.m. on their respective facilities.
In addition, the Pioneer alumni softball game will be held on Sunday, October 9th at 1:00 p.m. on the Northland home softball field.
The homecoming football game will feature a halftime event where the NCTC Foundation will raffle off a $200 Visa gift card. Raffle tickets will be available at the game for $1 each or 3 tickets for $2. All proceeds will go directly to Pioneer Athletics.
The Pioneers football team will be competing with a playoff spot on the line as they face Minnesota State (Fergus Falls) for homecoming. After falling to Ridgewater 28-0 at home, the Pioneers (2-2, 4-2), look to rebound as they currently hold third place in the Western Division. The top four teams advance to the first round of playoffs which begin on October 22nd.
