With the Thanksgiving Break behind us, the end of fall semester and finals week will soon be upon us. While this semester is winding down, the preparations for spring semester are well under way. The NCTC enrollment and student services departments are busy helping students through the application and registration processes. An area I would like to highlight and make people aware of, is our academic advisors. I have been very impressed with how they help students, whether they are entering college for the first time, or returning to finish a program or degree. The advisors are also very helpful for the undecided student. Advisors are trained to help students sort through their academic options and select the program that best fits their needs. It is not too late to sign up for spring semester, which starts on January 9th. Please contact us at 1-800-959-6282 to get the process started or to talk to one of our advisors.
NEW Accelerated 12 Week Welding Certificate
One of the many options for you to choose to pursue is our new sixteen-credit Welding Process Technology Certificate, which will debut this spring semester. I visited with Joel Ziegler, our TRF campus welding instructor, about the new certificate. Joel said, “This certificate is geared to students that can’t participate in a full 16 week semester. The 12 week certificate really appeals to students that are involved with seasonal employment, such as the agricultural or construction industries. While it is geared to seasonal workers, it is open to everyone.” The certificate is also a part of the Welding Process Technology Diploma. For those students that want to go beyond the certificate credential, the diploma can be earned in one additional semester. Classes will run from January 9th until March 31st, for more information please contact Instructor Joel Ziegler at 218-683-8728 or 1-800-959-6282 extension 8728.
